My Year of Change Begins!

My Year of Change Begins!

Yes, this is the first day of the rest of my year; a year where I am challenging myself to dig deeper and listen more closely so that I can live a quality life that positively impacts others.

Many of you have read a few of my blogs leading up to this moment. To keep the year of change organized in one central location, I have created a simple blog just for that purpose. It is called “Be the Crow,” and can be found at Be the Crow.com. You’ll understand the meaning of the title when you read a story I have posted there.

I will reference updates at this site each time they are made. This is really a personal journal of my own change journey. You’re more than welcome to join me.

In the meantime, I will continue to share my daily organizational insights on this site.

Recently, I had a meeting with a client. While meeting, a huge Raven flew up to a small window and landed there. We all turned to look his way, and were amazed by the beauty of this creature. I was sure this landing had something to do with my year of change, and a dear friend of mine let me know that many Northwest Indian Tribes had stories about the Raven.

I googled the topic, and found the following story. This story describes what every change does better than anything I’ve ever written. I encourage you to read it. I’ve spent years telling clients that “I upset things,” that it’s part of what I do to get change. I discuss that very fact in my book, Real People, Real Change.

Read this story “Raven and the Man that sits on the tides.” It’s absolutely brilliant for its simplicity. I wish I would written it:
