Move Stalled Projects
We’ve all been there. The weekly meetings that last three hours where the biggest PowerPoint deck wins. We like to call these “Pond Meetings,” because instead of change or movement, stagnation is everywhere and insects start to swarm the room.
Most stalled projects stop moving because there is a change that is being resisted by someone. Once Donna Highfill worked with two teams that the leader said were failing miserably on a product roll-out. What she found out once she got in there was that the failure was that two leaders were fighting for control of the product and were working people against each other.
Sound familiar? We know it does – but we also understand that sometimes you need an objective eye to come in, take a look, and turn your stagnant pond into a flowing river of activity.
Stalled projects can include:
- Sales initiatives
- Service initiatives
- Communication
- Current training programs
- Product roll-outs
The list can go on and on – so here’s another story. Donna once had a leader who simply couldn’t get his team to meet without getting into a knock-down drag-out battle over everything (even how to send an e-mail). Donna sat in on an all day meeting, and then worked with the team on communication and set up guidelines for behavior. The great news is that behavior changed almost immediately, and hours of wasted time became productive.
Stop being a pond; let us help get you river status!
